National Conference for College Women Student Leaders (NCCWSL)

  • WHAT IS NCCWSL?

    Each year, AAUW brings together college women from around the country for three days of leadership training, inspiration, and networking. This is the tenth year the AAUW-Walla Walla Branch is offering NCCWSL scholarships. This significant scholarship pays for tuition, travel, and lodging for the conference.

  • "DARE TO BE"

    This annual conference features outstanding keynote speakers, workshops, presentation of Women of Distinction Awards, and dialogue and networking with nearly 1,000 student attendees from across the nation. Previous attendees have found the conference to be inspiring and life changing. This year’s theme is “Dare to be…”

  • WHO SHOULD APPLY

    Applicants must be a woman student, currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate college program. They may either be attending a local college or be a local Walla Walla Valley resident who is attending college in the Walla Walla Valley or outside of the area. Enter the conference as an aspiring leader and leave it with the skills and confidence to pursue your goals.

  • DATES

    The conference will take place May 30 - June 1, 2024, at the University of Maryland, College Park, Maryland. Join hundreds of young women come to turn a moment into a movement.

  • APPLICATIONS

    Applications are due by April 12. Selection of the applicants will be completed by April 19 and registration to the conference will be submitted on or before April 26, 2024.

NCCWSL by the numbers

  • Roughly 50% of NCCWSL attendees are women of color. Many are first-generation college students. 

  • 1 in 4 NCCWSL attendees major in the STEM fields, followed by majors in business and the social sciences. 

  • Nearly 500 colleges from 48 states have sent campus leaders to NCCWSL.
